1st Project

Human Rights Education

The 1st project of RSN, "Human Rights Education" aims to disseminate human rights education among the Rohingya people. As a network of interconnected students of a marginalized community, Rohingya and having a vision of empowering the community, we designed this project to educate Rohingya people with human rights education.

Project Name: Human Rights Education
Date: January 2020
Project Period: 6 months (January 2020 to June 2020)

Objective: Providing human rights education to at least 495 Rohingya youths (15 Rohingya from each camp) as we have a total number of 33 Rohingya Refugee camps in Cox's Bazar. Inclusion of female participants is prioritised.

Financial support: Not available

Despite not having financial support, the members of RSN voluntarily conducted various workshops on Human Rights Education in all the expected locations of the camps.

We have identified our members who have good knowledge about human rights education and through the TOT (Training of Trainer) of Human Rights Education, we trained 22 Rohingya youths to assign them in different locations.

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, we had paused the activities of of the project from March 2020 to June 2020. We therefore continued to our activities following the rule and regulation of the country Bangladesh.

As we have planned, we have successfully reached every 33 Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar and provided "Human Rights Education" to 515 Rohingya youths where 20 more youths participated out of the initial project target. However, sadly, we failed to include female participants in our workshop.
