JOINT STATEMENT

Rohingya Community-Based Organizations in Cox's Bazar Call for a Ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine Conflict

We, the Rohingya community, are intimately familiar with the profound anguish caused by genocide. We have endured the heart-wrenching losses of our loved ones, the displacement from our homes, and the unrelenting suffering that ensues. In solidarity with those currently facing similar or even more severe hardships due to the Israel-Palestine conflict, we express our profound empathy.

The Israel-Palestine situation continues to escalate into a burgeoning tragedy with each passing day. Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the victims on both sides of this conflict. The unjust killing of innocent children, humanitarian personnel, journalists, UN staff, and civilians, as well as the deliberate targeting of educational institutions and medical facilities, is morally indefensible. It is of paramount importance that global leaders unequivocally denounce these actions and promptly work towards achieving a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

It grieves us to witness certain nations that have expressed commitment to seeking justice for the Rohingya people not taking a firm stance in support of a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict. We beseech all nations to put aside personal interests and come together in the pursuit of justice for the victims of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Let us bear in mind that compassion, justice, and peace must transcend geographical boundaries and political divisions. We stand in solidarity with those enduring the consequences of the Israel-Palestine conflict and earnestly call upon world leaders to take swift and resolute action to bring an end to this tragic chapter in human history.
