Rohingya Capacity Building Pilot -RCBP
To work toward the objectives of Rohingya Student Network, empowering Rohingya People and doing advocacy to bring positive changes, well trained and enthusiastic individuals are required to be a part of Rohingya Student Network. We believe the existing members of RSN are motivated but are in need to develop their capacity. Thus, we decided to implement this project to build their capacity and encourage more Rohingya man and women to work toward the objectives of RSN.

Project Period: 1 year (April 2023 to April 2024).
Objective: The objectives of this project include building capacity of the members of Rohingya Students Network (RSN), ensuring equal participation of women in RSN, and encouraging Rohingya men and women to work effectively and independently to bring positive changes for th community.

Project Description
During the first 6 months of the project period, 15 members of RSN including 5 women will receive some different training based on Project Management, Leadership skills, Research methodologies and professional writing, Effective Advocacy Training, Human Rights and Civic Education, and Women's Rights and Gender-Based Violence.
The women's affairs of RSN will organize workshops on leadership skills, women's rights, and gender-based violence for 40 Rohingya women during the last 6 months of the project period. RSN will provide a workshop completion certificate to each of those 40 participants and all of them will be invited to join RSN later.
The community empowerment department of RSN will organize different capacity-building workshops for 20 Rohingya men during the last 6 months of the project period. Those 20 men will be also issued their completion certificates and invited to join RSN.
While the women's affairs and the community empowerment department of RSN will be working to train 60 participants, the community engagement department, advocacy department, and communication department of RSN will be using their learning in practice to re-create the political power of Rohingya.
Implementation:
Throughout the project, several activities and actions were undertaken to facilitate capacity development and empower participants to advocate for the life, liberty, and security of people, aligned with the objectives of the Rohingya Support Network (RSN). These activities included:

Capacity Development Training Sessions: A series of training sessions were conducted covering 16 diverse topics ranging from leadership skills to women's rights. Expert trainers from within the community were hired, and a train-the-trainer approach was utilized to ensure sustainability.

Training for Selected Participants: Participants, comprising 9 males and 6 females, underwent intensive training over a period of 6 months on various skills such as professional writing, research methodology, and effective advocacy.

Gender-Specific Training: Tailored training sessions were conducted for specific gender groups, with 10 females receiving training on acquired skills, and 16 Rohingya youth being trained separately.

Awards Ceremony and Certificate Issuance: Upon completion of the capacity-building phase, an awards ceremony was held to recognize participants' achievements, and certificates were issued to acknowledge their successful completion of the training.

Focus Groups and Discussions: 73 focus group discussions were organized, focusing on empowering participants to become advocates for the security of people. These discussions were designed to keep both objectives interconnected and prepare individuals to actively advocate within their communities.

Website Development: A website was designed to document the journey of 15 participants, showcasing what they learned during the training and their aspirations for the future. This platform serves as a means to share their experiences and inspire others.

Creation of Strong Connections: The project facilitated the establishment of strong connections among the organization and with different stakeholders.
